PostSubject: Population Growth   Free IELTS descriptive report writing task submission - Page 3 EmptyThu Dec 11, 2008 10:51 am

Pallavi,
I am not an official ielts examiner, but I prepare students to sit the ielts. I'll give you feedback on your essay and I hope you find it useful.
The first graph shows POPULATION growth from year 1950(ONLY THIS YEAR?) ( IN WHICH COUNTRIES?). THE graph shows that population of india, china (CAPITAL LETTERS )and US is constantly increasing but for china(CAPITAL LETTER) it (VERB MISSING) more than (CAPITAL LETTER)india and us( IDEA NOT CLEAR). (CAPITAL LETTER) for US it is almost constant as (OMIT) compare(D) to india and china (CAPITAL LETTERS) and even very low growth rate(VERB MISSING, IDEA NOT CLEAR). China's population is already very high in cmpare( WRONG WORD, IT SHOULD BE A NOUN) to india (CAPITAL LETTER). (CAPITAL LETTER)in 1950 china (CAPITAL LETTER) had 500 million people than(WRONG WORD, CAPITAL LETTER) india had 300 mllion and US had less then (SPELLING) 250 million people.According to the source (CAPITAL LETTER)india's poplation(SPELLING) is increasing in such a way that till(WRONG WORD) 1925 it will cross the growth of india ( IDEA NOT CLEAR). (cAPITAL LETTER)about the urbanisation ,( THE) second graph show(S) that (CAPITAL LETTER)china is developing fast(ER) than (CAPITAL LETTER)india infact ( TWO WORDS, CAPITAL LETTER)china have (WRONG FORM OF VERB) more rural area (POPULATION) than (CAPITAL LETTER)india than (WRONG WORD) also it succeding in advancment(SPELLING, IDEA NOT CLEAR). (THE)graph shows that urbanisation is slowly increasing( PAST TENSE) from 1950 then after 1985 it accelerate(D). (CAPITAL LETTER)in 1985 the population fo(SPELLING) urban part of china was 200 million while for(IN) india it was 100million In 2005 urban population growth reached upto( TWO WORDS) 500 million for china and 300 for india. (CAPITAL LETTER)if we look (AT THE) rural part (ASPECT) ,for china it was maximam( SPELLING) 800 million people living in rural part in 1985 and for india it was 600 million, but the population of rural part in india is constantly increasing,it reached upto( TWO WORDS) 800 in 2005,but for china it is dereasing (SPELLING) years by years. (YEAR AFTER YEAR)

Your essay needs some work. Although you included some of tbe information given in the charts and you compared the population growth, some of your ideas are not clear. To begin with, capitalize names of countries and the words at the beginning of the sentence. Check the tenses of the verbs and that each sentence has at least one verb. The spelling of some words is also wrong.

Keep practising and I'm sure you will improve a lot.

The first chart shows the population growth in three different countries;India ,Chaina and the USA from the rear 1995 to 2005 however the second graph indicates the rates od urbanisation in India and china in the same years with projrctions of these rates beyond 2005.
China achieved the highest number of population and it keeps on increasing gradually and India is in the second position as it also has an increase in the population through the same period of time . The same trend twoards the high numbers recorded is obvious in the charts . For example , Chaina's population rose up dramaittically from 500 in 1959 t0 over 1,250 in 2005 and in India it went up from over 250 to over 1,000 . In USA , the situation is difficult as there was steady increase in the population . It is almost cosistent with comparaing to Indaia and China.
As for the expected rates of population from 2005 to 250 China's population is expected to reach itrs peak in 2025 to nearly 1,2400.It is also expected to decline in 2050. In India there is a sharp increase expected in 2050. It is clear that a slight increase will hapen from 2005 t0 2050.
The second chart shows that there was an increase of population in China rural from 500 in 1959 ti over 800 in 2005 then decreases in 2030 and increase in Chaina Urban to reach the top in 2030 but in India rural it will have a sharp sising in population as well as in India urban.
In conclusion , population is growing in all three counteirs but in Chaina and India the icrease is remarkable but in USA it is moderate.

The first graph indicates the chages on population size in India, China and US from 1950 to 2005 with projections beyond it, while the second graph shows how time affected the urbanization in China and India.

From the graph regarding population, it can be said that China is the most populated country among the three mentioned above while United States, on the other hand, has the least population from 1950 to 2005. However, based from the projections, as the year goes, people in India will eventually outnumber those who are living in China by approximately 300 million.

In terms of urbanization, China is gradually changing their country towards urbanization and as projected, beyond 2005, almost 900 million chinese will be living in urban cities as compared to nearly 600 million who will still prefer to recide in rural areas. At the same time, India is slowly catching up in terms of modernization of their cities but still projections show that there will only be a minimal decrease on the number of Indians living in rural areas.

There are two graphs shown above, one of which depicts the population growth in India ,China and the US,and the other one compared the urbanization trend in India and China.
the population growth compared the rise in population from 1950 to 2005 and then extrapolated beyond to 2030.this graph indicates that china has the largest population and the US the lowest, while India has been almost similar in terms of growth rate to China.China and India started in 1950 from just above 500 million and 350 million respectively and shows a gradual increase in their population growth which reached to around 1250 and 1100 million respectively in 2005.While the US has been steady in its population growth from around 200 million in 1950 to just above 250 million in 2005.
The extrapolation of the graph predicts the same gradual rise in the population in India which will surpass China in 2030 and will be around 1600 million by the end of the first half of 20th century, while China is showing a steady downfall from 2025 and will reach around 1300 by 2050,making India with the largest population.
The second graph elaborates the urbanization trend comparing rural and urban china and india, showing a decline in rural china from 1995 which while gradually going down will be the same as urban population by 2015 which will reach the 900 million mark in 2030.Although,the urban population has been increasing in india ,however, the rural population will still be prevailing by 2030.

In this report I will describe two graphs. First graph shows how population grows in India, china and US between 1950 and 2050 with data beyond 2050 being projected. the second graph shows urbanization in India and china between 1950 and 2030.

According to first graph population growth in India and china was substantially higher than that of US for the entire time period. In 1950 population in china was almost twice as much as India (500 versus 250 millions) .Population increases with almost the same rate for India and china till it become equal in 2030, after that these figures plunged to just below 1500 in china whereas it increases gradually in India and attained the highest value of 1600 by 2050.in US population climbed up gradually for the given time period.

In the second graph it can be seen that china urban population was marginally higher than of India till 80s after that gap widens quickly with the time. on the other hand china rural population was comparatively higher than that of India till 2000 beyond that these figures declined sharply for china and attained its starting value whereas in India it goes up steadily to just above 800 by 2030.

At last population of India and china is very large as compare to US. and both the countries, India and china are on the path of urbanization.

Population growth and urbanization are well studied in sociology as well in economics in relation to statistics. Bigger countries or those who belong to the so- called third world countries have very interesting facts and figures as related to population growth.

In this chart we have the comparison of population growth in China, India and the US. As well as its projected growth from 2005 and beyond.

It is being reported that China has the highest population among the three countries being compared. And China rural is being the highly urbanized compared to both rural and urban India, and urban China. While US is the least populated compared to China and India, its being urbanization is not documented.

It is projected that India has the most significant population growth way beyond China. While the US has a steady growth for over the years.

In terms of urbanization, China urban has been projected to be highly urbanized in the future compared to that of an India urban. While in rural areas the opposite is being projected. While rural India will be urbanized, China rural will significantly decline in urbanization.

As much as there was a decline in projected population growth in China, urbanization is impending in urban areas. The studies projected that the more urbanized China may seems, its population growth will decline.

And in India, rural areas will be highly urbanized, while its population will continue to rise beyond 2005.

The first graph shows the population growth in India, China and the US. As you can see both the Chinese and the Indian population have kept constantly growing very fast since 1950. In contrast to these countries the US population has increase it population significantly slower but also constantly during the same time.
For the following 45 five years is the population growth Indian population expected to maintain the high level that it has already have the past 50 years and it will probably increase even faster. In the other hand the experts projected that the population growth in China is going to increase slower until approximate the year 2020. After this year is decrease of the Chinese population growth expected. In contrast to this is the US population probably going to keep its lower but constant population growth until the year 2050.
The second graph shows the urbanisation level in India and China in relation to the population. While the urban development has been faster and more in China than in India, has the rural urbanisation stopped growing in China since the 90s and it is expected to become less in the next years. The Indian rural development is probably going to keep growing really fast during the next years

The chart illustrates increased population in India, china and United State from 1950 to 2005.
In the first graph , it is considerably clear that China's population has peaked the highest average which is approximetly 1,450 billion. Then population of India and United State increases gradually although United State's population seem to rise slightly which is about 260 billion. About the figurs in second line chat, it describes the population of India and China in urban and rural areas. By contrasting, people prefer to live in rural places more than urban. Inaddition population of China in rural is hit the hightest point (850 million in 1995), but the population of India reaches to 800 in 2005. While the growth of population in rural in China is more than one in India by nearly 230 million.
To sum up , rural areas attract more and more people than urban places.

The fifty years up to the year of twotousand there has been a steady groth of population in India and China. Both of the contries population have incriced by nearly a hundrad percent in a relatively short amount of time. You can really see the severety of it if you compare it to the US population groth that is a lot smaller.
One positive sign is though, is that the Cheneese populatinon groth is no longer rising as much and the populatinon is projected to start diminiageing within the next fifty years. That is a change that has happend in the last few years. It might have something to do whith the huge urbanisation that has occured since around the eighties.
Such a change in the population groth can not be seen in India who also has a urbanisation around the same time. But on the other hand, their urbansiation was not near as huge. This means that maybe in the future, when their urbanisation has cought up chinas, we will se the same thing happening there. Because even though it's not going as well as in China the groth is not as severa as in once was.

The first graph shows the population in three countries china,India and US from the year 1950 to 2050.
In china, from 1950 to 1925 the population increased sharply,it's expected that the population will decrease.
In India, there is a rapid increased from 1950 and it will reached a peak by the year 1950 as it is expected.
In the US,the population starts to grow slowly in the period between 1993 to 2050.
The second graph presents the urbanisation in India and china in the rural and urban.
by the year 1950 the population in both countries in urban was under 100 and it starts to growing in both countries in urban by the year 1975.
it's expected that the population in china in the urban will reached the peak in 2030.
To conclude, the population is growing in china and india in urban so that means the urban is more attractive than rural.

The two line graphs give information about the population growth between 1950 and 2050 in three different countries and also compare the rate of orbanisation in India and China between 1950 and 2030.

The First graph shows the population growth in the US, India and China. Population in the US has gradually grown from just under 250m people in 1950 to just over this amount of people in 2005. It has been predicted that the population will continue increasing with the same trend to 350m people in 2050.
Population in India and China Had significantly gone up from 1950 to 2005. a sharp increase of population of India in 2050 to about 1.500m has been projected. Also It has been predicted that there will be a slight increase followed by a decrease in the population of China between 2005 and 2050.

Second graph shows that both urban and rural population of India Increased gradually between 1950 and 2005. Theses increases will continue until 2050 according to predictions.
Rural population of china also had gone up between 1950 and 2005 and It picked to just above 800m in 1990 before a slight decrease to 750m in 2005. It has been predicted that this decrease will continue between 2005 and 2050.

Over all there had been an increase in the population of the US, China and India and these trends will continue according to forecasts.
Also in India and China there was an Increase in both rural and urban population, except the population of china that had decreased from 1990.

the two line graphs compares and gives information about the population and urbanisation in india and china during 1950-2050. graph [a ]gives an overview information of how the population growth has increased in inmdia ,china and america. chart [b] shows the rates of urban people living in india and china.

from graph [a] we can see that the population of china in 1950 is 500 millions and it has gone up significantly to 1350 millions of people till 2030 approxiamately and remained stable for a decade then starts declining. but in india it stood nearly at 400millions of people in 1950 and continues peakly beyond the projections. there is a gradual in population of americans since 1950 to 2050 where it has reached only below 500 millions of people. from graph [b] we can see that the both india and china peoples has started with same urbanisation rate and ends up with widespread in their rates. india and china has roused approxiamately at 70 millions of urbanisation and increased gradually until 1985 where china splits and raised steeply to 900 millions by 2030 whereas in india has inclined gradually to 600 millions in2030.

to sum up from both graphs ,both the population growth and urbanisation rate never declines

PostSubject: Population Growth versus Urbanisation   Free IELTS descriptive report writing task submission - Page 3 EmptyTue Aug 04, 2009 9:24 am

The first graph shows population growth in three countries namely India, China and U.S. The United States evidently shows that it remained constant in its population for the past 50 years. Even statistics projects that the state will remain and still manage the same population until 2050. In india, there is a gradual yearly increase of population since 1950 until 2005.Statistics projects that these increase will still continue and will reached a population of over 1500 million in year 2050.Last but not the least is China. Graph shows that it had already reached almost more than 1250 million population in year 2005, but statistics projects that there will be no increase in population by the year 2020 up to 2040. In addition to this China will be experiencing gradual decrease in population beginning 2045 until 2050.

The second graph shows urbanisation in India and China. As you can see both countries compared the population in their rural and urban areas. In India Rural, the graph shows yearly gradual increase of population since 1950 and this scenario will still be the same until 2050 but will have some slight decrease in number by year 2030. China compared to India had a gradual decrease of population since 1995 until 2005. It is projected that population in rural china will abruptly decrease until year 2030.
Remarkably, urban areas in both countries shows that the increase in population will still continue until 2030 particularly China urban which will have almost 900 million people by that time.

The first chart shows how population changes in three countries over a centry from 1950 to 2050 and the second one illustrates the urbanisation in India and China over the same period.

As is shown in the first graph, the population in USA remained relatively constant and low from 1950 to present. It is predicted to continu on the upward trend with very slow rate of increase, reflected in the growth starting from 180 to 400 million by 2050.

With 500 million people in 1950, China had the greastes population, which rose steadily until present and continue to peak at 1400 million in 2020 then drop slighlty. A similar trend can be seen in the figure for India, which started at approximately 380 million and will finally summite at 1600 million after a constant and substantial growth, becoming the most populous country in 2050.

According to the second diagram, China's urbanisation is faster than that in India. having the similar urban population at 80 million in 1950, however, the distance will be widen. by 2030, China will have 300 million more urban dewellers than India does (900 vs 600 million). By contrast, an opposite trend occurs in the rural popuation.the number of rural people in China will be below the levels in India after 2005.

From the first chart it can be seen that tne population of US is just below 250 million where the population of India is over 250 million.but at that year population of China was greater than both India and US.The population of US was below 250 million from 1950-1975.But by the year 1980 it reaches 250 million.it was projected that after the year 2005 the population will be over 250 million.on the otherhand Chinese and indian populatIon grows up dramatically from the year 1965.In that year the population of China and India was just 750 and 500 million respectively. And it is projected that Between 1925 and 1930 will be just below 1500 milliOn and both of this country"s population will be the same.but after 1930 Indian population will be greater than China.

Chart-2 describes urbanisation of India and China. The population of China in rural area was always greater than that of India from 1950 to 2000.But beyond 2005 the number of rural people in China decreased and by 2005 it was surprisingly the same of India. Urbanisation of Chiana was greater than India and it is projected that it will be greater afterwards. But a astonishing projection is that in 2016 the number of urban and rurAl people of China wilL be the same.

These graphs show actual population growth in India, China and the US, together with trends in urbanisation in India and China from 1950, potential projections for future generations are also indicated.

The graph depicting population growth primarily show’s a steady increase between 1950 and the present day, in China and India. In comparison the US has remained around the 250 million mark, slowly rising to approximately 400 million in 2050. The Indian population is also predicted to steadily rise from about 1,100 million in the present day to over 1,500 in 2050. In contrast the population of China is forecast to slowly decline from reaching a peak of 1,400 million in 2030 to 1,300 million in 2050.

Continuing on to urbanisation comparisons between China and India from 1950 to 2030, where trends in rural and urban populations are indicated in the second graph. Results show that the gap in Indian rural and urban living is predicted to close over projected years, however population remains mainly rural with a calculated population of 700 million in 2030, with urban figures of just under 600 million in the same year. Projections for China on the other hand show a complete change in trends, rural populations are shown to reach a maximum in 1990 at around 700 million, falling to a predicted 600 million in 2030. In contrast the urban population rises from just under a hundred million in 1950 to a staggering 900 million forecast in 2030.

In the first chart we can see the tendencies that the population of China, India and the US had been presenting over the years since 1950 until today, and the projection that this countries would have in terms of growth over the next 50 years.
Nowadays we can see that China has had the most consistent population growth over the last 56 years, with approximately 350 millions of people in 1950 and 1,300 millions at the present time, however, the projected level of growth won´t have the same growing tendency remaining, more or less, the same population by 2050.
India, in the other hand, has a very consistent projected population growth beyond 2005, reaching levels of 1,600 million people by the year 2050, and, by this, outstanding China as the world´s most populated country. This is very important because in 1950, India only had approximately 300 million people.
In the second chart we can see that the India and China rural populations are, more or less, at the same level right now (800 million people), however, the projected tendencies of growth for the India population are considerably bigger than those for China; reaching the former by 2030, approximately 850 million people, while the later would actually present a decrease of this population with less than 600 million people by 2030.
In term of urban population, growth between this two countries, China has a much larger urban population growth projection, reaching almost 900 millions by 2030, which is approximately the number of urban population today in China, in contrast with the bit more of 300 million people that India has of urban population nowadays.

The first graph illustrates the tremendous population growth in India,China and US.The second graph compares the population of India and China in rural and urban areas. The population growth is shown in Millions.
Among the three countries U.S has least population growth which has a minor change in every year.Compared in 1950 and 2050 the population growth varied slightly in U.S.But when coming to India, year 1950 shows less population compared to china, but it is expected to exceed china population by 2050.China's population will b constantly increased till 2020.but from 2025 it is predicted to b decreased.
The second graph clearly defines the increase of India's population in Urban and Rural areas when compared to China.Initially in 1950 China and India have same amount of population in urban areas. But when compared in 2030 China's urban population was vastly increased when compared to India.Coming to china's Rural population,It was decreased in 2030 than in 1950.But India's Rural population increased tremendously by 2030.

It can be concluded that India's population is increasing rapidly day by day when compared to other two countries. As the population increases there will not be enough resources to use.So the people look for the country for less population and high resources. So probably all try to settle in U.S and China which have less population than India.
